STRUCTURING OF FURNITURE PATTERN TO DECREASE OF DENSITY CONCISENESS OFCIRCULATION ZONE IN A BOARDING HOUSE. Case Study : A Boarding House in Desa Karang Malang Yogyakarta

Abstract

Karang Malang village is one of a boarding house location at Yogyakarta. Boarder of a boarding house consist of a student, an employee and a vendor. A boarding house at this village consist of 3 type namely a boarding house for man, a bording house for woman and a mixed boarding house. Then location of a boarding house have 2 type, namely : a boarding house what separated from a boarding house owner, a boarding house within from a boarding house owner . A boarding house showed neat and loosed, but personal furniture are dirty clothes and shoes always put beside boarding room door. Meanwhile a boarding house directly related with communal room (joint space dan guest room). The existence of personal goods disturb circulation and situation of activities what done in communal room (joint space dan guest room). Based on this phenomena, research team, attracted to explored factors and given solution for this problem

This research was done using Naturalistic Qualitative method for 6 months. Sampling was used as the unit of exploration and the analysis consisted of 11 boarding house. For observation, the researcher always explored every data and took information from some sources. The researcher collected data using Purposive Sampling technique, Snowball Sampling technique dan Cross Sectional system.

The result of this research showed that, generally, boarder of a boarding house given priority to disposed personal interests, weak environmental awareness, then causing a disturbance in the various partie and utilize of joint space dan guest room to put personal furniture. As for the required solution is by given a special zone in the boarding room to put the dirty clothes and shoes and utilize in communal room (joint space dan guest room).to done activities.
